The 2010 EIMF is a giant leap forward for us for a number of very important reasons:
1) We welcome students from at least five countries, many who play together and others who are ready to forge new friendships and chamber music groups
2) For the first time in recent history, we are partnering with the world famous St. Petersburg String Quartet who will be our quartet-in-residence and provide their invaluable opinions on everything from what it is like to play in a professional full time quartet, to demonstrating rehearsal technique, intonation, color matching. A very special year to study with the best of the best.
3) Another first – we will have a string orchestra with a giant number of great performance opportunities.
2010 EIMF, June 12-26, should be full of firsts and the familiar sense of accomplishment at the same time. I encourage you to join us.
